How do I update my game to the next-gen?

It is necessary to manually download the dedicated next-gen version of the game from either the PlayStation Store or your library. To update disc copies, players need a PlayStation 5 console with a disc drive and have it inserted in order to download and play the game.
While it’s possible to have both versions of the game on your PlayStation 5, we suggest deleting the PlayStation 4 version to save disk space.
Steps for players who own the Game of The Year edition for PlayStation 4:
- On the PlayStation Store search for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt game page
- Select the ellipses (...) and select "view product"
- Select the ellipses (...) once more and select The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition
- Select "buy" - it should cost $0.
For players who own only the base game, you will be able to get the free next-gen update to the base game, not the Complete Edition. If you also own the expansions you will need to download their PlayStation 5 versions separately as well.
