Updated PC requirements for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

As technology evolves and we continue the development of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, we’re updating the PC system requirements to take advantage of modern hardware while maintaining the level of quality and performance that meets both our standards and our players' expectations. Back in May, we announced the updated Minimum PC requirements. Today, we're expanding them to include Recommended, Ultra, RT Minimum, RT Recommended, and Path Tracing configurations.
Performance
The expected FPS targets in the table above are based on our QA tests. Occasional frame rate fluctuations may occur depending on the scene and gameplay. Performance also may vary depending on your system configuration and any changes made to graphics settings or output resolution. Higher resolution will significantly affect FPS - you can learn more about how resolution affects performance here.
Due to the end of Game Ready Driver support for Maxwell, Pascal, and Volta, we selected the Turing-based GTX 1660 as the minimum NVIDIA GPU. As a result, the GTX 1660 can achieve 60 FPS or higher at Minimum settings.
RT Minimum, RT Recommended and Path Tracing performance was measured with DLSS/FSR/XeSS set to Auto. All other configurations use native resolution (upscaling was turned off in the respective presets). The Path Tracing configuration was measured with upscaling and Frame Generation switched on.

With both Microsoft and Nvidia ending support for the operating system, we will no longer officially support Windows 10. Learn more about our reasoning here. That doesn't mean that the game will stop running on Windows 10 with the next game update. However, we no longer develop or test on this system, so we cannot guarantee compatibility or performance going forward. Additionally, we only support components that continue to receive official updates from their manufacturers. As a result, the hardware that we included in the minimum requirements allowed us to target 60 FPS.
Furthermore, to support the game’s latest technical enhancements, an SSD is now required. It offers faster load times, smoother asset streaming, and improved overall performance. That way we can offer you a more seamless experience.
Earlier versions
Depending on your platform, it is possible to revert to an earlier version of the game (1.32, listed as Classic). Upon the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered, it will be also possible to revert to the 4.04 version.
