How do usernames work and what are the username guidelines?

Selecting your preferred username for gaming shouldn't be a challenge. There’s no need to come up with a unique one – simply tell us what we should call you during registration and we'll handle the rest. We've streamlined the process to ensure that you’ll get the name you want. Your chosen username will be made unique with the addition of a random hashtag. For instance, if you want to be called "Geralt", we'll create a unique username, e.g. "Geralt#1234". This way each player can have a unique username, to avoid any confusion, but everyone will be able to have their preferred handle, as long as it follows our guidelines:
- Offensive language, vulgarity or hate speech of any kind are not allowed.
- Your name must contain at least 3 alphanumeric (0-9, a-z, A-Z) characters.
- The maximum length of the username is 18 characters.
- Periods (.), commas (,), and underscores (_) are allowed.
